Jordan 3 Fragment (Friends and Family)
The Air Jordan 3 “Fragment” (Friends & Family) is an ultra-rare, unreleased variation of the classic silhouette, created as part of an exclusive collaboration between Jordan Brand and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design imprint.
Designed under the direction of Hiroshi Fujiwara in partnership with Jordan Brand, this Friends & Family edition was never intended for retail release, making it one of the most elusive Air Jordan 3 samples ever produced. Fragment Design is known for its minimal, high-concept approach to sneaker collaborations, often stripping designs down to clean, refined executions with subtle branding.
The shoe typically builds on the classic Air Jordan 3 foundation designed by Tinker Hatfield, featuring premium leather construction and the iconic elephant print detailing. However, the Fragment F&F version is known for its elevated, understated aesthetic—often favoring a crisp white base with deep black accents and Fragment’s signature blue tone subtly incorporated into branding or heel detailing. The result is a more refined and luxury-driven interpretation of the AJ3 rather than a loud, performance-heavy colorway.
What sets this pair apart is its exclusivity. As a Friends & Family sample, it was produced in extremely limited numbers for close associates of Fragment Design and Jordan Brand, with no official public release. This level of scarcity has elevated it to grail status among collectors, especially those who follow Fragment’s history of highly controlled collaborations.
